Rockhampton Jockey Club has successfully worked with Racing Queensland to have two additional races added to Thursday’s TAB program.

The now 10-race card will commence 12.22pm with the final race to be run at 5.52pm, making for a huge pre-Christmas 5.5hr race meeting with over $230,000 prizemoney.

Racing Queensland agreed to an additional $23,000 – 2yo Maiden Handicap(1050m) being added to the program, then at acceptance time today agreed to divide the field for the Maiden Handicap (1200m), adding another $23,000 in prizemoney. A total of 117 horses accepted for the ten events with emergencies drawn in half of the races.

The feature race is the $35,000 Magic Millions Country Cup Qualifier – Open Handicap (1200m) with 11 horses to run.

Quite a few Christmas parties will be held at Callaghan Park on Thursday’s  festive day of racing to finish the RJC’s calendar year.

The RJC will have the prize wheel operating with punters going into a second chance draw to win prizes throughout the afternoon.
