Four Rocky trainers chase Brisbane dollars.

With three of his Rockhampton team in Brisbane, John Wigginton, leads a local charge for the big dollars on offer at Doomben today.

Callaghan Park trainer Wigginton and jockey Ryan Wiggins combine with In Evidence (BM78 -1200m), Our Turn Now (C3 -1615m) and Bencoolen (BM68 -1350m). In Evidence, who resumes from a break off the back to two Callaghan Park trials, looks his best chance but will have to match motors with another Rocky star, Hell, from the Nick Walsh stable. In Evidence won at Eagle Farm over 1400m in BM 75 class last April and has a good first up record with four placings. But Hell is going to be a tough competitor and looks the one for all horses in the race to beat. Hell to be ridden by Emily Lang, has won its past two in Brisbane – a 0MW (1350m) at Doomben in August and a last start, near 3 length romp in a C4 (1200m) at Eagle Farm last month.

Trainer Nick Walsh had Hell in Brisbane last week but the race was deleted at nominations. He currently is the banner horse for the successful One Syndication ownership group. Wigginton’s Bencoolen is in great form with a Mackay victory last month and he has drawn nicely at barrier two. Our Turn Now has its first Brisbane start and goes to the city with a Mackay win and Rockhampton second from its last two starts.

Jared Wehlow is persisting in chasing a metropolitan win for Pepperdine who has run some nice races in the south recently. He ran fourth last start in a BM70 (2000m) at Doomben and he lines up today in the BM75 (2200m) with Emily Lang his jockey.
