Green decides it’s time for a start in the big smoke.

With a perfect picket fence of Rockhampton victories beside her name, four-year-old mare Alloutatime has earned a crack at the big time.

Trained at Callaghan Park by Sileas “Mully” Green, Alloutatime will make its metropolitan race debut in Saturday’s Souths Sports Club Benchmark 70 Handicap (1200m) at Eagle Farm.

It will also be a momentous occasion for Green who will be saddling her first Brisbane starter.

“Me and the filly are both new at this, Adrian (partner Adrian Coome) has had Brisbane runners before, but this is my first,” she said. “It’s time to give it a crack with her.”

Green has engaged the 2007 Melbourne Cup winning jockey Michael Rodd for the ride and she’s excited that he’ll be on board.

“To get Michael Rodd is awesome, he’s a great rider and he can give us a really good guide on what we have got, what level the filly is at, I’m stoked,” Green said.

Bred in Gladstone by the Gladstone Turf Club vice-president Sharon Thomsen, a part-owner of the Top Echelon – Tidy Trim four-year-old, Alloutatime has won four of her eight races with each of the wins at Rockhampton’s spacious Callaghan Park track, where she remains unbeaten.

Alloutatime recorded her latest win at Callaghan Park on 30 January in a QTIS Class 3 Handicap (1100m). Carving out a quick time, Alloutatime was ridden by apprentice Nikki Olzard and bolted in, beating the Sunshine Coast trained Victory’s Ghost and local Diddly Squat.

“I think that was the best of all her wins so far, we think we have got her right and we didn’t want to risk going to Brisbane too late in her preparation,” Green said.

It is not the first time Alloutatime has travelled away from home. Last year she placed second at the Sunshine Coast’s Corbould Park, beaten two lengths by Bohemian Lad in a Benchmark 62 Handicap (1000m).

Green gave punters a bit of a leg up to Alloutatime’s chances when she scratched the mare from a Friday engagement at Callaghan Park, preferring to test her up and comer in Brisbane. She said the Rockhampton race was “winnable” but opted for the tougher assignment to fully test Alloutatime.

The booking of Rodd is a big plus. Rodd has an outstanding career record, which has returned winners of over $22.6 million. This season his winners have won close to $800,000 already. The multiple Group 1 winning rider is also in form, winning races at each of Brisbane’s two Saturday metropolitan meetings this month.

Latest markets have Alloutatime at $7.50 to win at Eagle Farm.

The early race favourite ($2.90) is Stuart Kendrick’s promising Justify filly Just Precious, to be ridden by Cody Collis. Just Precious has won its last two races at the Sunshine Coast and Doomben.
