One Syndications manager, RJC deputy chairman Brandon Diplock has reported that Hell will not take its place in its 2025 target race, the $100,000 One Syndications Rockhampton Newmarket (1300m) next Friday.

Hell looked to be right on track for what was going to be his most important assignment, since he ventured north from Victoria in March last year. But his campaign has been derailed this week.

The four-year-old, the first horse entered for the Newmarket when race nominations opened this week, was an impressive 1000m trial winner by 2 lengths in 57.74s, for trainer Shane Sigvart and jockey Ash Butler last Monday, but Diplock said an old, niggling injury has flared up and the sprinter will need to go for a spell.

“It is a little muscle injury from The Archer, and its flared up again so we are going to have to pull up stumps for now,” Diplock said. “Sometimes, it’s a cruel game.”

Hell has won $238,000 and has had an outstanding 12 months of racing as the banner horse for One Syndications, winning three Brisbane metropolitan races, three races in Rockhampton and one in Townsville.
