A Raheen Stud yearling wearing hip number 29 at the Capricornia Yearling Sale is expected to be popular at the auction on Sunday week after the recent success of its sibling, Metalart. The filly by Heroic Valour from Exquisite Art is a half-sister to the unbeaten Metalart a winner of its only two race starts in Brisbane including Wednesday’s 3yo BM 65 Handicap (1350m) at Doomben. Two weeks earlier Metalart won a 3yo Maiden (1200m) also at Doomben. Every time Metalart (by Better Than Ready) has set foot on a track it’s won, with two Doomben barrier trial wins before he went to the races. Michael Rodd rode Metalart at Doomben this week and the Kelly Schweida-trained gelding strolled in over Gospel Girl and Ringer’s Reward. Exquisite Art, a daughter of the champion Redoute’s Choice has had eight foals to race for five very good winners. As well as the promising Metalart, Exquisite Art has produced dual Brisbane winner Dot Painting (by Sebring), Shooting Love (by Shooting to Win) who won three races on Brisbane and Ipswich tracks, Whiteley (by Sebring) who won three races in NSW and was placed at Randwick, and Castleton (by All Too Hard) which was a 1600 metre race winner. The yearling filly’s sire, Heroic Valour has been a great sire for Basil Nolan at Raheen Stud, which spans more than 4,000 acres in the fertile Gladfield Valley near Warwick. A group 1 winning 2yo by the great Fastnet Rock, Heroic Valour  is getting plenty of winners with his progeny even winning in Hong Kong and New Zealand. Among his good Australian winners include the very smart Uncommon Valour, Heroic Miss, Salt Lake Betty, Shadyvale Storm, Heroic Son, Mishani Persuasion, Gallant Valour, Conquistadore, Zipping Irish, and Valtino. Equisite Art traces back to multiple Group 1 race winners Victory Vein and Shadow Hero.
