Racing Queensland track experts give Callaghan Park the thumbs up.

One of Australia’s most respected and longest serving track managers, former Victorian Marty Synan, who relocated to Queensland earlier this year, said Rocky’s Callaghan Park has a tremendous cover of grass and is in good order.
Synan took the helm of racetrack development for Racing Queensland in February after looking after the Moonee Valley track for 41 years.
As RQ track development manager, Synan oversees the curation of all thoroughbred, harness and greyhound racecourses in the Sunshine State.
Synan and RQ’s regional manager for thoroughbred tracks, Dave Morrison walked and probed the surface and inspected the RJCs track preparations and the track condition for Sunday’s The Archer race meeting at Callaghan Park.
“We met with track manager Trent Williams and walked and probed the entire track,” Morrison said. “The track surface has a good strong/healthy coverage of couch grass over the entire surface. “The track is currently a Soft 5 with some good give and looking good and ready for racing.”
