The RJC is looking for a new track manager following the resignation of Trent Williams late last week and an advertisement will appear for the job vacancy on Seek and Racing Jobs websites in the coming days.

“Trent has decided to relocate his family and accept a new position, in Southeast Queensland, where he will start in early 2026,” RJC CEO David Aldred said.

“He has done a very good job managing the tracks and starting races at Callaghan Park for around five years now,” Mr. Aldred said.

Mr. Williams said he will assist the RJC in transitioning his role over the next month, before starting a new position, still in turf management, but not with another race club, in the New Year.

“My decision to leave Callaghan Park did not come lightly, but the move (that I have decided to make) suits me and my family at this time,” Mr. Williams said.

Trent Williams has been an asset to the RJC management team, and his skills have seen the Callaghan Park track consistently presented in top order for racing and participants.

“Just a couple of months ago, Trent did a powerhouse job to manage the track renovations at Callaghan Park perfectly, he will be missed, and his skill set will be hard for us to replace,” Mr. Aldred said.

“We all wish Trent and his lovely family well for their imminent move south, and I am personally looking forward to seeing him grow in his career.”

The RJC will conduct a national search for Mr.  Williams’ replacement, and the club is confident they can attract another quality track manager to join the RJC team.

Mr. Rob Burnell, the track 2IC, will in the interim act to fill the void and will also be the RJC head starter. Mr. Burnell has been the starter at two TAB race meetings and one non-TAB race meeting at Callaghan Park in recent weeks and has been overseeing the track team in Mr. Williams’ absence.
